Role Overview – Contract Technical Writer for Developer‑Facing Documentation

This contract position is purpose‑built for a technically savvy writer who can produce developer‑oriented content such as API references, quick‑start guides, tutorials, and integration examples. You will work directly with a senior technical writing consultant who will provide briefings, recordings of SME meetings, and clear priorities. The role demands meticulous adherence to guidance, a bias for action, and a willingness to dive into source code, install products, and synthesize complex concepts into concise, user‑friendly documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce high‑quality developer documentation – author and maintain API reference guides, code samples, quick‑start tutorials, and detailed integration walkthroughs for a variety of open‑source and commercial software products.
• Collaborate closely with subject‑matter experts – review meeting recordings, attend brief virtual syncs, and ask clarifying questions to ensure technical accuracy.
• Follow established style guides and documentation frameworks – use Markdown, reStructuredText, or similar markup languages, and adhere to client‑specific formatting standards.
