Key Responsibilities
As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:
- Daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment, ensuring 24/7 reliability and availability
- Monitoring Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS) to identify potential issues and optimize performance
- Assisting in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA), using your technical expertise to resolve problems quickly and efficiently
- Performing rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA, ensuring that our data centers are always running at peak performance
- Performing PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment, using your technical skills to identify and fix problems
- Technical writing to support change management program, ensuring that our documentation is always up-to-date and accurate
- Monitoring daily work requests and managing to resolution, and executing projects from conception to completion, using your project management skills to deliver results
- On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices, procedures, and local legislation
- Working schedule changes depending on specific site needs, including shifts of up to 12 hours and rotating schedules, because we believe in being flexible and adaptable
- Supporting more than one location/site, because we're a global company with a diverse range of operations
Physical Requirements
We're looking for someone who is willing and able to work in a variety of physical conditions, including:

A Day in the Life
As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, your day will be filled with a variety of tasks and challenges. You'll be responsible for maintaining and operating our critical infrastructure systems, including stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, 3 phase electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and fire/life safety equipment. Essential Qualifications
We're looking for someone with:
- High school or equivalent diploma, because we believe in the importance of education and training
- Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience in a mission-critical infrastructure or equivalent experience in a relevant industry, because we believe in the importance of practical experience
- 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience, because we believe in the importance of hands-on experience
- 1+ years' experience with Microsoft Office products (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), because we believe in the importance of being proficient in a range of software applications
