Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Depth Test & Calibration Engineer to join our team in a work-from-home capacity. As a key member of our Camera Technologies group, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and testing camera hardware and software that calibrates and tests imaging components for Apple products. If you're passionate about camera technology, have a strong understanding of imaging systems and optics, and are eager to take on big challenges, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

As a Depth Test & Calibration Engineer, your core responsibilities will include:
  • Developing new testers and critical optical components to meet design requirements for calibration and test.
  • Developing and deploying software that calibrates and tests imaging systems.
  • Analyzing volume data to provide guidance on engineering decisions.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for Apple products.
  • Designing, implementing, debugging, and developing methods to calibrate imaging systems and quantify their performance.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you'll need to have:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as electrical engineering, computer science, or physics.
  • A strong understanding of imaging systems and optics.

Key Qualifications

While a Bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement, we're looking for candidates with:
  • A strong understanding of camera technology.
  • Experience in image processing or software development, with programming experience in languages like Matlab or C++.
  • Exceptional mechanical, hardware, and software problem-solving and optimization skills.
  • A self-motivated and professional attitude, with a passion for teamwork and collaboration.
  • Experience in lens characterization methodology and calibration, or camera/depth sensing device/optical device test, is a plus.

Education & Experience

While a Bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement, we're looking for candidates with relevant experience in camera technology, image processing, or software development. If you have a Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant field, that's a definite plus.

As an Apple employee, you'll receive a competitive salary, ranging from $143,100 to $264,200, depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
