As a Director of Digital Product Management, you'll be part of Amex Digital Labs, responsible for catalyzing digital innovation at American Express. Our team is dedicated to originating, incubating, and managing emerging products and platforms that can be essential to our customers' digital lives. About the Role

We're seeking an experienced full stack digital product management director to lead our Labs Digital Payments team in focusing on digital wallets growth and expansion. As a product leader, you'll be responsible for a portfolio of digital wallets, driving the development and execution of a detailed product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements to optimize user engagement, repeat usage, and monetization. You'll work closely with engineering, design, business development, enablement, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of features, timely delivery, and alignment with technical feasibility and user experience standards.

Key Responsibilities

As a Director of Digital Product Management, your key responsibilities will include:


  • Product Strategy Development: Formulate a comprehensive strategy for the expansion of existing capabilities, along with the creation of new products and features, that's informed by the competitive landscape, user needs, and aligns with company goals.

  • Product Roadmap Management and Delivery Planning: Drive the development and execution of a detailed product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements to optimize user engagement, repeat usage, and monetization.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering, design, business development, enablement, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of features, timely delivery, and alignment with technical feasibility and user experience standards.

  • Partner Management: Cultivate the relationship with partner counterparts in support of joint product goals.

  • User Insights & Analytics: Utilize qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques to gain deep insights into user behavior, preferences, and trends, leveraging findings to refine product strategies, improve user experience, and drive growth.

  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly monitor product performance to identify optimization opportunities.

  • Team Leadership and Coaching: Provide authentic and empathetic leadership to your product team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. Encourage innovation, continuous learning, and accountability to drive excellence in product development and delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:


  • Strong leadership skills and passionate about colleague development, with the ability to coach, mentor, and guide direct reports.

  • A history of managing a product at scale and shipping continuous improvements/new features.

  • Technically literate with a deep appreciation of the engineering discipline and partnership.

  • Experience successfully managing and growing partner relationships.

  • Energy and drive to ensure that your product is successful and has an impact, with a keen eye for detail and ability to analyze key metrics to identify opportunities or problems.

  • Clear and concise communication skills to convey product strategy and vision, adept at explaining complex concepts to a broad audience.

  • Ability to prioritize roadmaps across multiple competing priorities and timelines, with high consideration of user needs, technical feasibility, and business outcomes.

  • Clear understanding of customer research frameworks and principles; able to articulate a strong point of view that is backed by knowledge of the industry and customer needs.

Salary and Benefits

As a Director of Digital Product Management, you can expect a competitive salary range of $150,000.00 to $225,000.00 annually, plus bonus, equity (if applicable), and benefits. Our benefits package includes:
