About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Food Preparation Specialist to join our team at the Disneyland Resort. As a Food Preparation Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our guests receive high-quality food and beverage services throughout our amusement parks and resort hotels. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and cook menu items for all meals throughout the day, following recipes and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Prepare and portion food items, including but not limited to, eggs, gluten, yeast, tree nuts, and other ingredients, to meet the needs of our guests.
  • Cook, mix, and season ingredients to create dressings, sauces, marinades, fillings, and spreads, as well as prepare and cook hors d'oeuvres, salads, pastas, sandwich fillings, and other food items.
  • Work with a variety of food items, including meats, cheeses, fruits, and vegetables, to create a wide range of dishes and presentations.
  • Prepare and cook food items according to recipe guidelines, using a variety of cooking techniques, including grilling, roasting, sautéing, and steaming.
  • Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, using a variety of equipment, including ovens, stoves, grills, and fryers, to prepare and cook food items.
  • Ensure that all food items are prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality, safety, and presentation.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure that all food and beverage services are delivered to the highest standards of quality and service.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance your skills and knowledge, and to stay up-to-date with the latest culinary trends and techniques.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as culinary arts or hospitality management.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a food preparation or culinary role, preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent culinary skills, including cooking, baking, and presentation techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of team members and guests.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a culinary arts program or similar education.
  • Recommendation from a culinary school or similar institution.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
