Job Overview

The Principal Data Analyst will play a crucial role in analyzing data to inform business decisions, performing maintenance and updates on interfaces, and identifying and resolving data discrepancies in support of an IT Financial Management application. This position requires a master-level understanding of data analysis, proficiency in Java and SQL, and the ability to drive results through a key financial lens. Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Works directly with the client community and financial stakeholders to define and document data requirements for data integration and business intelligence reporting.
  • Determines and documents data mapping rules for development of medium to high complexity data between applications.
  • Adheres to and promotes the use of data governance standards.
  • Supports data selection, extraction, and cleansing for ingestion into the IT Financial Management application, including data warehouse and data lakes.
  • Creates and maintains processes, tools, and ongoing support designs and processes.
  • Extracts and analyzes data from specific applications, systems, and/or databases to create reports and provide recommendations based on the analysis of the data.
  • Researches and resolves data issues across platforms and applications, including discrepancies of definition, format, and functionality.
