About the Role: Customer Service Representative I

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Customer Service Representative I to join our team. As a primary customer-facing employee, you will provide assistance and support to individuals self-directing Medicaid services in their homes and to their caregivers. Your expertise in specific program rules and qualifications, combined with exceptional customer service skills, will enable you to promptly and accurately address issues, provide support, and ensure customer satisfaction. You will maintain a thorough understanding of our company systems, sensitive information handling procedures, and ensure the privacy of our customers remains paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle 40+ inbound and outbound calls, determining customer needs and providing one-call resolution
  • Communicate effectively with individuals of varying educational levels, disabilities, and communication styles
  • Respond to customer inquiries with timely and accurate information, using person-centered techniques in all interactions
  • Provide information on self-direction, enabling individuals to make informed decisions about their care
  • Assist individuals in completing paperwork and understanding program requirements
  • Represent blithequark in all public interactions, ensuring quality service to internal staff and external clients
  • Initiate required actions for caller requests, including additional support from other blithequark staff or document requests
  • Conduct follow-up phone calls to ensure quality and satisfaction
  • Participate in development, training, and departmental meetings, adhering to corporate policies
  • Access blithequark software to retrieve information, update contact notes, and maintain digital case records

Essential Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess a combination of education and experience that has provided the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for satisfactory job performance. This may include:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • One year of experience in customer support activities, preferably in a call center environment
  • Working knowledge of contact with the public, telephone, and modern office procedures
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to electronically document records in a web-based chart
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office, email, and internet
  • Good problem-solving and listening skills
  • Ability to work with the public under stressful circumstances in a fair, calm, and understanding manner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CRM experience and/or Medicaid experience
  • Bilingual skills
