WHAT YOU WILL DO
This position will support daily operations and projects in the Right-of-Way department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Establishing trust and building long-term positive relationship between the clients and landowners.
• Serving as a liaison between agricultural landowners and utility clients throughout project planning, construction, and restoration.
• Conducting field audits and monitoring agricultural conditions before, during, and after construction.
• Reviewing and providing feedback on crop damages, soil conditions, and restoration progress.
• Supporting crop damage evaluations and calculating compensation for agricultural impacts.
• Assisting in the preparation and enforcement of Agricultural Impact Statements and CPCN-related agricultural conditions.
• Coordinating and supporting construction compliance and CPCN order points, DATCP requirements, and agricultural standards.
• Addressing agricultural issues during negotiations or restorations, such as compaction, fencing, drainage, and access.
• Collaborating with utility representatives, contractors, and agencies to ensure timely resolution of agricultural concerns.
• Maintaining detailed field documentation, photographic records, and landowner communication logs.
• Supporting public outreach and stakeholder engagement in agricultural communities.
• Other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED SKILLS
• Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Sciences, or similar field
• 5 years practical experience working directly with farmers and/or in the agricultural industry with familiarity of crop prices, typical mid-west farming practices, regulatory policies, crop insurance and crop loss/damages OR 10 years with direct farming and/or experience within the agricultural industry to include familiarity of crop prices, typical mid-west farming practices, regulatory policies, crop insurance and crop loss/damages.
• Basic understanding of general real estate practices, conflict management, and utility construction practices are preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
At Steigerwaldt, we offer a Remote-Friendly Hybrid Work Model. This position includes regular travel - up to 50% statewide - for fieldwork, meetings, and landowner coordination. Due to the nature of this role, the Agricultural Specialist is remote-friendly and does not need to work from our offices.
COMPENSATION
Salary commensurate with experience.
POSTING DATE
October 22, 2025. Position will be filled within one to three months. Interviews will be scheduled throughout this time. The expected start is November 2025, dependent upon candidate availability. Please note that these positions may be filled sooner, as there is flexibility in the start date.
