We are now seeking an Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer to join our Power Delivery Substation Department in a hybrid role that offers the flexibility to work from home and our office in Hailey, Idaho.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and talented individual to fill the role of an Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the department in achieving its goals, maintaining our high-quality standards, and promoting internal teamwork to meet the needs of our clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed design of low to extra-high voltage substations, including one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, station physical layouts, and other related tasks
  • Develop and review design documents, such as sections/elevations, cable and conduit plans, ground grid design, foundation plans, structural plans, control enclosure design, lightning protection plans, and yard lighting plans
  • Prepare bills of materials, conduct site visits, and support QA/QC for deliverables to clients
  • Learn, understand, and adhere to client standards and processes while working individually or within a team to complete complex and technically challenging designs
  • Collaborate with internal team members and external client personnel to ensure effective communication and project delivery
  • Occasional travel may be required for site visits, meetings, or training sessions

Required Education and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET) from an accredited university, preferably with a power option
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering principles and concepts
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel
  • Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship

Desired Education and Experience

While not required, the following qualifications are desirable:

  • 3 months of relevant electrical engineering work experience, which could be on an internship or co-op basis
  • A minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA)
  • Knowledge of electrical utility substations and familiarity with substation design
  • Engineer In Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
