Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and talented individual to fill the role of an Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer. Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed design of low to extra-high voltage substations, including one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, station physical layouts, and other related tasks
- Develop and review design documents, such as sections/elevations, cable and conduit plans, ground grid design, foundation plans, structural plans, control enclosure design, lightning protection plans, and yard lighting plans
- Prepare bills of materials, conduct site visits, and support QA/QC for deliverables to clients
- Learn, understand, and adhere to client standards and processes while working individually or within a team to complete complex and technically challenging designs
- Collaborate with internal team members and external client personnel to ensure effective communication and project delivery
- Occasional travel may be required for site visits, meetings, or training sessions
Required Education and Experience
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET) from an accredited university, preferably with a power option
- Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering principles and concepts
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel
- Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship
Desired Education and Experience
While not required, the following qualifications are desirable:
- 3 months of relevant electrical engineering work experience, which could be on an internship or co-op basis
- A minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA)
- Knowledge of electrical utility substations and familiarity with substation design
- Engineer In Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
