Job Overview

In this critical role, you will be responsible for leading maintenance activities for assigned shifts, ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines and equipment. As a Facilities Maintenance Lead, you will assign, re-assign, and direct preventative maintenance activities, work orders, and other maintenance assignments, leveraging your technical expertise and leadership skills to drive success. Your strong and diverse skillset will enable you to act as a resource for mechanics, identifying and correcting potential equipment problems, and troubleshooting and maintaining production lines and batching/processing equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance activities for assigned shifts, ensuring compliance with standard safety practices, safety rules, and company policies
  • Assign, re-assign, and direct preventative maintenance activities, work orders, and other maintenance assignments to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Act as a resource for mechanics in identifying and correcting potential equipment problems, and troubleshooting and maintaining production lines and batching/processing equipment
  • Perform quality checks and accurate quality documentation as required, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and Safety Data Sheets
  • Maintain proper safety conditions of equipment, immediately correcting or reporting safety issues to your supervisor
  • Read, understand, and comply with standard operating procedures and Safety Data Sheets, ensuring a safe working environment
  • Able to explain and demonstrate job tasks to all internal and external visitors, promoting a culture of transparency and collaboration

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong technical background, combined with excellent leadership and communication skills. The following qualifications are essential:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • A strong understanding of mechanical systems, including production lines, batching/processing equipment, and preventative maintenance activities
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of mechanics and maintenance personnel
  • A strong commitment to safety, with a proven track record of maintaining a safe working environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to changing priorities and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred, but not essential:

  • A degree in a relevant field, such as mechanical engineering, maintenance management, or a related discipline
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other maintenance software applications
  • Certifications in maintenance management, safety, or a related field, such as CMRP, CMM, or OSHA
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and techniques, including continuous improvement and root cause analysis
