Your Role and Responsibilities

As a FULLY REMOTE Minnesota Occupational Therapist, your primary responsibility will be to provide teletherapy services to students in K-12 educational settings. This will involve:

  • Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and monitoring progress
  • Conducting assessments and evaluations to identify occupational therapy needs
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student success
  • Maintaining accurate records and documenting all therapy sessions
  • Providing teletherapy services to a diverse caseload of students, including those with varying abilities and needs
  • Utilizing technology and teletherapy platforms to deliver high-quality therapy services remotely

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • A current OT license in the state of Minnesota
  • NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) certification
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a school setting, preferably in a teletherapy or remote capacity
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment
  • A reliable internet connection and proficiency with teletherapy platforms, including the ability to troubleshoot technical issues

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:

  • Experience working with students with diverse abilities and needs, including those with autism, ADHD, and other special needs
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and its applications in occupational therapy
  • Experience with electronic medical records and documentation systems
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and families from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds
