As a Catering Guest Experience Manager at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our guests receive exceptional catering experiences during events and conventions. This dynamic role requires a unique blend of leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as you will be responsible for managing Event Operations and Catering Cast Members, collaborating with various teams, and promoting a positive work environment.Key Responsibilities
- Execute events from both Convention logistics and Catering operations perspectives, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences.
- Work directly with Catering, Culinary, and Entertainment partners, as well as clients, to deliver tailored solutions and exceed expectations.
- Lead Convention and Catering Cast during events, providing guidance, support, and real-time feedback to ensure outstanding performance.
- Ensure overall client satisfaction with catering during events, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
- Promote a safe work environment and food safety culture, adhering to regulatory requirements and procedures.
- Demonstrate expertise in safety and service standards, regulatory requirements, and procedures, serving as a role model for cast members.
- Be visible and available to respond to the needs of clients, cast members, and peers, fostering a culture of collaboration and open communication.
- Guide cast members through event operational performance, providing constructive feedback and coaching to enhance their skills and confidence.
- Recognize team members for outstanding performance and customer service, promoting a culture of recognition and appreciation.
- Set clear priorities and expectations for cast members, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Build employee engagement through communication and mentoring, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Work cross-departmentally to achieve shared goals and understand the impact of decisions, promoting a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
- Identify and clear obstacles to ensure successful events, thinking critically and creatively to resolve challenges.
- Perform administrative duties such as attending meetings and compiling operational metrics, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:- At least five years of Catering or Convention experience in a resort environment or relevant experience, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Understanding of the Convention business, including event planning, execution, and evaluation.
- Creativity to find solutions and improve Guest and Client experiences, thinking outside the box to deliver innovative and tailored solutions.
- Ability to empower and manage a team, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure outstanding performance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead in stressful situations, remaining calm and composed under pressure.
- Ability to optimally resolve conflict and work effectively with cast members at all levels, promoting a culture of respect and open communication.
- Schedule availability to include weekends, variable shifts, and holidays, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

- Knowledge of Walt Disney World procedures, including Matra, My Time, and CDS.

- Experience working in a high-volume, restaurant or catering environment, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Food safety certification, with a focus on promoting a safe work environment and adhering to regulatory requirements.
