About the Role

We're seeking an experienced 6th Grade Teacher to join our team as a Remote Education Specialist. As a Matchbook Learning teacher, you'll be a teacher, a project advisor, and a learning facilitator. You'll provide targeted small-group instruction, lead whole group discussions, coach students as they work with individualized online learning tools, and collaborate with peers to ensure high levels of student achievement.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction to 6th grade students in a virtual setting
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
• Use data-driven instruction to drive student achievement and growth
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve instruction
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues through various channels
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
• Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives and programs

Essential Qualifications

• State Standard teaching certification or equivalent out-of-state certificate
• At least two years of teaching experience in an urban or low-income setting (preferred)
• Demonstrated a record of success in the classroom (as a classroom teacher preferred, assistant and student teaching evidence considered)
• Demonstrated an understanding of how to effectively analyze student data to guide instruction
• Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Entrepreneurial heart and mindset, with a willingness to take on challenges and try new approaches

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with blended learning models and online platforms
• Knowledge of curriculum design and development
• Experience with data analysis and interpretation
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
