Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Customer Service Representative to join our team at blithequark. As a Property and Casualty insurance expert, you will be responsible for handling customer service and billing inquiries, providing plan coverage information, quotes, policy changes, and policy change impacts to premium. This is a remote work opportunity, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home, while still being part of a dynamic and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contact policyholders through inbound and outbound telephone calls, direct mail, and email to review policies prior to renewal and make recommendations to enhance retention and better meet their needs.
  • Utilize knowledge of the insurance industry and blithequark's policies and procedures to provide efficient and professional customer service, including receiving and responding to calls and emails, and documenting all activity in our system.
  • Identify opportunities to apply discounts, process insurance verification forms, and act as a liaison for information exchange between customers and insurance companies.
  • Process changes to policies, submit changes to specific companies, and follow up to ensure change requests have been processed in a timely manner.
  • Review policy information, reference company-specific claims procedures, and assist insured in filing claims.
  • Recognize cross-sell opportunities and obtain quote information to provide additional value to our customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team and blithequark.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of increasingly complex customer service experience in an insurance environment.
  • A Property and Casualty insurance license, with a Membership license preferred or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide professional and courteous service to our customers.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and provide solutions to our customers.
  • Proficiency in our system, EPIC, and the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
