Position Overview

We are urgently seeking a highly motivated, Board‑Certified Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Staff Development Coordinator for the Good Samaritan Society campus in Prescott Valley, AZ. This role is 100 % remote, day‑shift (8‑hour) with a full‑time schedule of 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will function as a Clinical Learning & Development Specialist, designing, delivering, and evaluating educational programs that elevate the quality of care, strengthen compliance, and foster a culture of lifelong learning among our long‑term care staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Educational Program Design & Delivery: Conduct comprehensive needs assessments, develop curricula based on adult‑learning theory, and deliver engaging, evidence‑based training sessions (in‑person, virtual, and blended formats).
  • Competency Validation: Oversee the competency verification process, ensuring all staff meet state and accreditation standards for skills, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaboration & Partnership: Work closely with nursing leadership, department managers, external academic partners, and community agencies to align learning initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Regulatory & Risk Management: Monitor changes in federal, state, and accreditation regulations; translate requirements into actionable training modules and documentation.
  • Data‑Driven Evaluation: Collect, analyze, and report on education metrics (e.g., satisfaction, knowledge retention, performance improvement) to drive continuous quality improvement.
  • Research Facilitation: Support staff in locating and applying current research and best‑practice literature to improve patient outcomes.
  • Mentorship & Coaching: Serve as a resource and role model for new and experienced nurses, fostering professional growth and leadership development.
  • Technology Utilization: Leverage learning management systems (LMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and emerging e‑learning tools to enhance accessibility and effectiveness of training.
  • Project Management: Lead education‑related projects from concept through implementation, ensuring timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations are met.

Essential Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered RN license in Arizona (or ability to obtain licensure within 60 days of hire).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Education, Organizational Development, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of direct clinical experience in a long‑term care or skilled‑nursing setting.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering adult‑focused education programs (formal teaching, workshops, webinars, or in‑service education).
  • Strong knowledge of federal (CMS), state, and accrediting body (e.g., CARF, Joint Commission) requirements for long‑term care facilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with learning management platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex clinical concepts into clear, practical learning materials.
  • Self‑directed, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

  • Graduate degree (MSN, MEd, or MA) in Nursing Education, Adult Learning, or Healthcare Administration.
  • Additional certifications such as Certified Nurse Educator (CNE), Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), or similar.
  • Experience with Emergency Nursing certifications (TNCC, ENPC, BLS, ACLS, PALS) and serving as a course director or instructor.
  • Background in clinical process‑improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, QI projects).
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and virtual simulation tools.
  • Valid driver’s license (required for occasional onsite visits to the Prescott Valley facility).
