About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Math Tutor to join our team, working remotely to provide academic support to students in Mathematics course materials. As a Math Tutor, you will play a vital role in helping students develop knowledge, insight, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. This is a part-time position, scheduled to work up to 18 hours per week, with an hourly rate of $18.20 - $24.23 DOE.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist students in analyzing assignments and assigned readings.
- Assist students in interpreting and understanding mathematical concepts.
- Assist students in developing critical thinking and mathematical communication skills.
- Assisting students in developing effective study habits and skills.
- Assist students working in an online format.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Reference from an instructor or professor if you are a current Olympic College student.
- High School Graduate, Equivalent, or Current Running Start Student.
- Completion of MATH 141 (or equivalent course) with a decimal grade of 3.5 or higher.
Desired Qualifications
We prefer candidates with the following qualifications:
- College teaching or previous tutoring experience.
- Completion of Math 141, Math 142, Math 151, Math 152, and Math 163 or equivalent courses with grades of 3.5 or higher.
