Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Part-Time High School Math Tutor to join our team at GradePower Learning Austin South. As a tutor, you will play a vital role in helping students develop their math skills, build confidence, and overcome academic challenges. Key Responsibilities

  • Follow the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies to deliver high-quality instruction and support to students.
  • Complete daily student communication updates to ensure seamless communication with parents and students.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work with students of various skill levels, from 6th to 12th grade, to help them build their math skills and confidence.
  • Develop and maintain a strong rapport with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices in education.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or a portfolio of experience working with children.
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a 6th to 12th grade (or equivalent) level.
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Knowledge of cognitive learning theories and instructional design principles.
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation.
