As a Title I Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in supporting the remedial education of elementary students in the areas of reading and mathematics, working closely with our certified classroom teachers and Title I coordinator.

About the Role

The Title I Paraprofessional will perform duties under the supervision of the Title I coordinator/certified classroom teacher, providing one-on-one or small group tutoring, behavior and engagement monitoring, and instructional support services. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to elementary students in reading and mathematics
  • Monitor student behavior and engagement during small group instruction
  • Provide instructional support services under the direct supervision of a certified classroom teacher
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and teachers to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following qualifications:

Essential Qualifications

  • Complete at least two years of study at an accredited institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours)
  • Obtain an associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution
  • Meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through passage of an approved formal state academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate
