We are seeking a part-time Tutor Certified to provide academic support to students in South Carolina. As a Tutor Certified, you will work closely with classroom teachers to assess students' needs and develop effective methods of tutorial service delivery. You will provide one-on-one and group tutoring sessions to help students develop successful academic skills, a positive attitude, and a high level of motivation and self-confidence.Key Responsibilities
- Provide academic assistance to assigned students, either in a group setting or one-on-one, as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Collaborate with the classroom teacher to assess selected students and develop effective methods of tutorial service delivery.
- Maintain records on each tutored student, including follow-up and periodic evaluation of progress.
- Assist students in achieving a better understanding of specific subject material and helps them develop study skills necessary for academic success.
- Help students develop a positive attitude, a high level of motivation and self-confidence in academic work, serves as a role model for students being served.
- Assist in designing and implementing cooperative group projects as needed.
- Attend periodic training sessions to enhance competency in tutoring.
Essential Qualifications
- A valid teaching certificate or proof of retirement from teaching.
- Prior tutorial experience preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of children.
- Ability to work with others.
- Willingness to follow directions.
- Ability to handle unforeseen situations in accordance with Board Policy.
- Ability to accept individual differences among children.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented.

- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
