About Hazel Health – Transforming School‑Based Care Nationwide

Hazel Health is the nation’s largest virtual provider of school‑based health services, reaching more than four million K‑12 students across the United States. Recognized by Fast Company as one of the world’s most innovative workplaces in 2023, Hazel’s mission is to eliminate every barrier that prevents children from receiving high‑quality physical and mental health care—whether they are at school, at home, or in their community.

At Hazel, we partner with public‑school districts, private schools, and health‑plan networks to turn schools into the most accessible front door for health services. Our diverse team of licensed clinicians, medical professionals, and technology innovators works collaboratively to deliver evidence‑based therapy, medication management, and preventive health programming—all through secure, HIPAA‑compliant telehealth platforms.

Joining Hazel means becoming part of a purpose‑driven organization that values equity, innovation, and the well‑being of the families we serve. Whether you work from a home office in Virginia, a co‑working space in Dallas, or a quiet corner of a coffee shop, you’ll have the tools, support, and autonomy to make a measurable impact on the lives of children and their families.

Position Overview – Pediatric Mental Health Therapist (Remote, Part‑Time)

This role is a full‑remote, part‑time opportunity designed for licensed mental health professionals who thrive in flexible evening schedules. You will provide virtual, evidence‑based counseling to K‑12 students within Hazel’s partner school districts, collaborating closely with school staff, families, and internal care‑management teams to ensure seamless, high‑quality care.

Key Highlights:

  • Minimum 12 billable hours per week, with summers off, aligning with the academic calendar.
  • Competitive hourly rate of $61‑$67 (W‑2), with opportunities for language‑based rate increases.
  • Fully supplied telehealth equipment, malpractice coverage, and generous professional‑development benefits.

Core Responsibilities

As a Pediatric Mental Health Therapist, you will be an essential member of Hazel’s clinical team. Your day‑to‑day duties will include:

  • Progress Monitoring: Administer clinical screeners, track therapeutic outcomes, and adjust interventions based on data‑driven insights.
  • Collaboration with School Personnel: Work hand‑in‑hand with teachers, counselors, administrators, and school nurses to integrate mental‑health services into the broader educational environment.
  • Care Coordination: Liaise with Hazel’s care‑management team to facilitate smooth transitions into and out of Hazel services, including referrals to community resources and external specialists when needed.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Complete accurate, timely clinical notes, treatment summaries, and progress reports in accordance with state licensure requirements, HIPAA, and Hazel’s internal standards.
