About Microsoft – Pioneering the Future of Cloud and Sustainability

Microsoft is more than a global technology leader; we are a mission‑driven organization shaping the way people, businesses, and societies thrive in a digital world. With a commitment to carbon‑negative operations by 2030 and a relentless focus on empowering every person and organization on the planet, Microsoft offers an inspiring platform for innovators who want to blend technology with purpose. As a member of our worldwide community, you will join a culture that celebrates curiosity, celebrates diversity, and rewards bold ideas that accelerate digital transformation while protecting our planet.

Why This Role Is a Game‑Changer

Our M365 Center Stage team sits at the nexus of cloud architecture, product strategy, and sustainability. In this pivotal role, you will lead the design and delivery of next‑generation cloud services that are not only high‑performing and reliable but also environmentally responsible. The position offers a unique blend of strategic influence and hands‑on execution, allowing you to shape product roadmaps, mentor multidisciplinary teams, and drive measurable impact on cost efficiency, carbon reduction, and customer delight—all from the comfort of your own home office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Vision & Roadmap: Define and champion a long‑term product vision that aligns with Microsoft’s sustainability goals and business objectives, translating high‑level concepts into actionable, prioritized roadmaps.
  • Cross‑Functional Leadership: Partner with engineering, design, data science, finance, and go‑to‑market teams to ensure seamless collaboration, clear communication, and consistent delivery of product milestones.
  • Customer‑Centric Development: Conduct deep market research, user interviews, and data analysis to uncover customer pain points, then design solutions that improve usability, performance, and environmental impact.
  • Cloud Architecture & Innovation: Drive architectural decisions for cloud services, emphasizing scalability, resiliency, cost‑optimization, and alignment with emerging standards such as Kubernetes, containers, and AI‑enhanced operations.
  • Metrics & Impact Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) around service reliability, cost of goods sold (COGS), carbon footprint, and user adoption; continuously monitor and iterate based on data‑driven insights.
  • Mentorship & Team Development: Coach product managers, engineers, and analysts, fostering a culture of learning, curiosity, and high performance; lead regular skill‑building workshops and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Create compelling executive briefs, product demos, and roadmap updates for internal leadership and external partners, translating technical details into strategic business value.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion agile practices, lean product development, and rapid experimentation to reduce time‑to‑market while maintaining rigorous quality standards.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure that all product enhancements comply with Microsoft’s security policies, data privacy regulations, and industry standards, safeguarding customer trust.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • At least 3 + years of proven experience in product management, product ownership, or program management within a technology‑focused organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams in delivering complex cloud‑based solutions, preferably within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret large data sets, extract actionable insights, and translate them into product decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of influencing senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in cloud infrastructure concepts, including containers, Kubernetes, micro‑services, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience managing product lifecycle from ideation through launch, including post‑launch performance monitoring and iterative improvement.
  • Passion for sustainability, with an understanding of how technology can reduce carbon emissions and improve resource efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Computer Science, or related) or relevant certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, or Azure Certified Solutions Architect.
  • 5 + years of experience specifically in cloud product management, SaaS platforms, or enterprise software delivery.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud cost optimization techniques, including COGS analysis and financial modeling.
  • Background in artificial intelligence or machine learning, especially as applied to operational efficiency or predictive maintenance.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering products that achieved measurable sustainability outcomes (e.g., reduced energy consumption, lower emissions).
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (such as Terraform or ARM templates), and automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience working in fully remote or distributed teams, with a proven ability to build strong relationships and maintain high productivity across time zones.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to see the big picture, anticipate market trends, and align product strategy with corporate goals.
  • Product Ownership: Mastery of backlog grooming, user story creation, prioritization frameworks (e.g., RICE, WSJF), and sprint planning.
  • Data‑Driven Decision Making: Proficiency with analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SQL) to evaluate product performance and guide improvements.
  • Leadership & Influence: Comfortable leading without direct authority, inspiring confidence, and fostering collaborative problem‑solving.
  • Technical Fluency: Deep understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), container orchestration, API design, and security best practices.
  • Customer Empathy: Strong ability to listen to, understand, and prioritize user needs, turning feedback into actionable product enhancements.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in fast‑changing environments, embracing uncertainty and turning challenges into opportunities for innovation.
  • Communication Excellence: Craft clear, compelling narratives for a variety of audiences—from engineers to executives to external partners.
