By merging deep industry knowledge with innovative partnership models, we consistently generate measurable value for our clients and set new standards for operational excellence within the ETF space.

As we continue to expand our reach, we seek forward‑thinking individuals who are passionate about financial markets, technology, and continuous improvement.

Role Overview – Driving Operational Efficiency from Anywhere

As a Remote Middle Office Operations Analyst, you will be a linchpin in the daily execution of trade processing, reconciliation, and data validation activities that underpin the integrity of our ETF operations. Your responsibilities will span from meticulous transaction verification to the design and implementation of automation solutions that enhance speed, accuracy, and risk mitigation. Working closely with trading desks, technology partners, compliance teams, and senior leadership, you will champion a culture of operational excellence, ensuring that every trade moves smoothly from execution to settlement while adhering to the highest regulatory standards.

This position is ideal for a detail‑oriented, proactive professional who enjoys navigating complex data sets, solving challenging problems, and collaborating across functional boundaries. While the role is remote, we value candidates who are centrally located in or near Chicago, Milwaukee, or New York City, allowing for occasional in‑person meetings and team gatherings.

Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Own and Deliver Every Day

  • Trade Capture & Validation: Receive, record, and verify trade tickets from multiple sources, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness before they enter downstream systems.
  • Reconciliation Management: Perform daily and end‑of‑day reconciliations across front‑office, middle‑office, and back‑office platforms, identifying and resolving discrepancies with speed and precision.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Conduct comprehensive data validation checks, maintain master data references, and enforce data governance standards throughout the trade lifecycle.
  • Process Improvement & Automation: Identify repetitive manual tasks, develop VBA macros, SQL scripts, or Excel‑based tools to automate workflows, and partner with technology teams to embed enhancements into production systems.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Management: Create and maintain clear, detailed SOPs, process flow diagrams, and audit trails that support internal controls and regulatory examinations.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Support: Assist the compliance function in preparing reports, conducting periodic reviews, and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations such as SEC, FINRA, and global best practices.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Liaise with traders, portfolio managers, risk analysts, IT developers, and external vendors to resolve issues, refine processes, and align on technology roadmaps.
  • Project Participation: Contribute to strategic initiatives—including system migrations, new product launches, and risk mitigation projects—by providing operational insight and testing support.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track key operational metrics (e.g., turnaround time, exception rates), generate regular performance dashboards, and recommend corrective actions where needed.

Required Qualifications – The Foundation of Your Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a quantitative discipline.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of hands‑on experience in trading operations, middle‑office, or settlements within a financial institution, preferably at a bulge‑bracket firm.
  • Solid understanding of equity, fixed‑income, and derivative instruments, including how they settle and clear in the market.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a track record of executing repetitive, high‑volume tasks accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize automation opportunities and translate them into practical tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and charting.
  • Working knowledge of VBA, SQL, or similar scripting languages for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the capacity to prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset with proven problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills—both written and verbal—and the ability to build collaborative relationships across remote teams.

Preferred Qualifications – Adding Extra Value

  • Experience using industry‑standard platforms such as Bloomberg, Advyzon, Charles River, or similar front‑to‑back systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing ETF operations, including SEC Rule 6c‑11, MiFID II, or other relevant jurisdictions.
  • Exposure to Agile or Scrum methodologies and an interest in participating in iterative development cycles.
  • Demonstrated curiosity for continuous learning, with a willingness to acquire certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, or specialized ETF certifications).
  • Previous involvement in technology‑driven process redesign or digital transformation initiatives.

Core Skills & Competencies – What Sets You Apart

  • Technical Acumen: Ability to navigate complex trading and settlement systems, extract data, and develop automation scripts.
  • Risk Awareness: Understanding of operational risk concepts and how to mitigate them through controls and monitoring.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working in a distributed environment, building consensus, and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a fast‑changing, high‑growth setting where priorities can shift rapidly.
  • Integrity & Confidentiality: Maintains the highest ethical standards and safeguards sensitive financial information.
  • Customer‑Focused Mindset: Recognizes that internal stakeholders are customers, delivering service with professionalism and responsiveness.

At Tidal Financial Group, we invest heavily in talent development. As a Middle Office Operations Analyst, you will have access to:

  • Internal Training Modules: Continuous education on emerging technologies (Python, RPA, cloud computing), regulatory updates, and advanced ETF structures.
  • Cross‑Functional Rotation: Opportunities to spend short‑term assignments in product planning, compliance, or technology teams, broadening your perspective.
  • Leadership Pathways: High performers are considered for senior analyst, team lead, or manager roles within the middle‑office hierarchy.
