Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate Radiology Services: Partner with ordering physicians, radiologists, and care management teams to schedule imaging studies, verify insurance authorizations, and confirm patient preparedness.
- Patient Outreach & Education: Use telehealth, phone, secure messaging, and email to guide patients through pre‑procedure instructions, fasting requirements, and post‑study follow‑up.
- Data Management & Documentation: Extract pertinent information from EPIC and other electronic medical records (EMR), entering accurate data into tracking systems and documenting all interactions per compliance standards.
- Prioritize Workload: Leverage dashboards and reports to identify high‑risk or time‑sensitive cases, ensuring rapid response and escalation when needed.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as authorization turnaround time, imaging completion rates, and patient satisfaction, providing actionable insights to leadership.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in virtual huddles with physicians, nurses, social workers, and case managers to align care plans and remove barriers to timely imaging.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend process enhancements, contribute to workflow redesign, and support adoption of new digital tools that streamline radiology coordination.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to HIPAA, JCAHO, and state regulations in all communications and documentation.
Essential Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in health‑administration, nursing, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within radiology, care management, or patient navigation.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and strong comfort navigating EMR platforms, especially EPIC.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex information in clear, compassionate language.
- Demonstrated accountability, customer‑service orientation, and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, remote environment.
