Why This Role Is a Game‑Changer

    • Monitor student progress, collect data, and report findings to the lead teacher and special education coordinator.
    • Implement behavior‑intervention plans and de‑escalation techniques in accordance with district policy.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Participate in weekly virtual IEP meetings, contributing insights about student performance and cultural considerations.
    • Serve as a bilingual liaison, translating documents, communications, and meeting minutes for Spanish‑speaking families.
    • Maintain regular contact with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and addressing concerns promptly.
    • Work closely with occupational therapists, speech‑language pathologists, and school psychologists to coordinate support services.
  • Compliance & Documentation
    • Ensure that all paperwork, including progress reports, attendance logs, and incident forms, is accurate, complete, and filed in a timely manner.
    • Maintain confidentiality of student records in accordance with FERPA and state regulations.
    • Assist teachers in preparing documentation required for state and federal reporting.
  • Professional Growth & Leadership
    • Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities, including webinars, workshops, and district‑wide training sessions.

    • Mentor new educational assistants and interns, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
