Why Join PAM Health? – A Visionary Leader in Post‑Acute Care

PAM Health is a nationally recognized network of more than 70 long‑term acute care and rehabilitation hospitals, wound clinics, and outpatient therapy centers spanning 17 states. Our mission – “to serve people by providing compassionate, expert care and to support recovery through education and research” – drives every interaction, from bedside nursing to community outreach. As part of our We Care program, you will work alongside seasoned clinicians, innovative leaders, and a supportive “PAMily” that values every team member’s contribution to patient healing and organizational excellence.

Our El Paso rehabilitation facility is at the forefront of delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care to diverse adult populations. We blend evidence‑based practices with state‑of‑the‑art technology, creating an environment where nurses can thrive, grow, and make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals recovering from complex medical conditions.

Position Overview – Night‑Shift LVN with Remote Flexibility

We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and detail‑oriented Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our night‑shift team (full‑time) at our El Paso rehabilitation unit. While the primary work site is the hospital, the role offers remote‑enabled support tools that allow you to coordinate seamlessly with interdisciplinary teams, access electronic health records efficiently, and participate in virtual continuing‑education sessions. As an LVN, you will operate under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and will be instrumental in delivering safe, effective, and person‑centered care throughout the nocturnal hours.

Key Responsibilities – What Your Day (or Night) Will Look Like

  • Patient Care Delivery: Provide direct bedside nursing care for assigned patients, including assessment, monitoring, and execution of RN‑directed treatment plans.
  • Medication Administration: Safely administer oral and intravenous medications, adhering strictly to the five “rights” of medication administration and documenting each dose accurately.
  • Vital Sign Management: Record and interpret vital signs, intake/output measurements, and other clinical parameters, promptly reporting significant changes to the RN and attending physician.
  • Wound & Ostomy Care: Perform thorough wound assessments, change dressings, and deliver ostomy care following evidence‑based protocols to promote optimal healing.
  • Device Management: Insert, secure, and maintain nasogastric tubes, gastrostomy tubes, urinary catheters, and manage tracheostomy/ventilator care as ordered.
  • Specimen Collection: Obtain blood, urine, sputum, and other required specimens, ensure proper labeling, and transport them in accordance with infection‑control standards.
  • Documentation Excellence: Maintain accurate, timely entries in the electronic medical record (EMR), including progress notes, care plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in nightly huddles, coordinate with physicians, therapists, dietitians, and social workers to align patient goals and discharge planning.
  • Patient Education & Advocacy: Teach patients and families about medication regimens, wound care, equipment use, and post‑discharge self‑management strategies.
  • Safety & Quality Assurance: Observe and report any adverse events, near‑misses, or changes in patient condition, contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Essential Qualifications – The Must‑Haves

  • Current, unrestricted Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) license in the state of Texas.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as mandated by the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • High school diploma or GED; graduation from an accredited LVN program.
  • Proficient reading, writing, and verbal communication skills in English, including familiarity with medical terminology and abbreviations.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately document patient care in an EMR system.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced night‑shift environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated capacity to build rapport with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

Preferred Qualifications – The Nice‑to‑Have Extras

  • ≥ 2 years of direct inpatient medical‑surgical or rehabilitation experience.
  • Previous exposure to emergency, critical‑care, or intensive‑care settings.
  • Comfort and competence with advanced airway management, ventilator support, and PICC line care.
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or similar advanced life‑support credentials.
  • Experience using telehealth platforms and remote patient‑monitoring tools.
  • Participation in a hospital’s Quality Improvement or Patient Safety Committee.

Core Competencies & Skills – What Enables Success

  • Clinical Judgment: Ability to assess, interpret, and act upon clinical data, recognizing subtle changes in patient status during night hours.
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and respectful exchange of information with RN supervisors, physicians, and support staff.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled use of EMR systems, medication administration pumps, and bedside monitoring equipment.
  • Team Leadership: Capacity to motivate and guide unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) and ensure cohesive care delivery.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to evolving patient needs, staffing changes, and emergent situations.
  • Ethical Practice: Commitment to patient confidentiality, informed consent, and adherence to regulatory standards.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits – What You’ll Receive

While exact salary ranges are influenced by experience and certification level, we offer a competitive hourly wage that reflects the demands of night‑shift nursing. In addition to base pay, you will receive:

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans with employer contributions.
  • Paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, and a generous paid sick‑leave policy.
  • Retirement savings options, including a 401(k) plan with employer match.

  • Shift differentials for night work, including hazard pay and overtime eligibility.
  • Uniform allowance, laundry services, and on‑site parking.
  • Opportunities for internal mobility, mentorship, and leadership development.

At PAM Health, we view every team member as a future leader. As an LVN on our night team, you will have access to:
