This role is part of the esteemed Francis I. Job Summary

The Research Compliance Analyst 2 will be an integral part of our collaborative research team, working closely with investigators, researchers, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and monitor research studies. The primary focus of this role will be on studies conducted in sub-Saharan Africa, with responsibilities including contributing to study design, protocol development, regulatory compliance, budget management, and the coordination of study visits and meetings. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and a strong interest in contributing to the advancement of global health research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Study Design and Implementation: Contribute to the methodological design of research studies, participate in the development and review of study protocols and documents, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate with governmental and academic regulatory agencies to ensure adherence to regulations and policies, including those related to human subjects protection and data privacy.
  • Study Coordination: Organize and coordinate study meetings, site visits, and data collection activities, both domestically and internationally, with up to 10% travel required.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage study budgets, generate subcontracts, and procure study supplies, ensuring efficient use of resources and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Communication and Dissemination: Support the writing, editing, and formatting of manuscripts for publication in high-impact medical journals, and assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively in a diverse team environment, prioritizing tasks, and following through on assignments with minimal direction, to achieve research goals and objectives.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field such as biostatistics, public health, epidemiology, or a similar discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Independence, planning, and decision-making abilities to complete assigned duties with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in computer software, including Word, Access, Excel, email, and internet applications, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies as needed.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines.
  • One or more years of work experience in project management, research, or a related field, with a demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented setting.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check, including fingerprinting, as required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • A graduate degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, public health, or a related field, demonstrating advanced knowledge and skills in research methodologies and analysis.
  • Knowledge of relevant Federal and State regulations, and policies governing research, including those related to human subjects protection and data privacy.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with diverse stakeholders, including researchers, regulatory agencies, and community partners.
  • Experience in writing, editing, and reviewing scientific manuscripts for publication, with a strong understanding of medical and scientific terminology.
  • Proficiency in French, given the focus on studies in French-speaking countries, although this is not a requirement for the role.
  • Relevant compliance certification, demonstrating expertise in research ethics and regulatory compliance.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range for this position, with a midpoint of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to your salary, you will be eligible for a range of benefits, including:
