About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team on a full-time basis. As an Occupational Therapist at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, you will be responsible for planning and providing occupational therapy for temporarily or permanently disabled patients in accordance with professional and MLH standards of treatment. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial patient assessments to identify occupational therapy needs and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Implement patient treatments based on assessment and written plan, and provide ongoing patient assessment through observation and records
  • Identify patient-specific Occupational Therapy rehabilitation learning needs and provide appropriate education
  • Demonstrate initiative in identifying opportunities for self-development and enhancement of professional competency
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans
  • Provide guidance and direction to therapy assistants as needed

Essential Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Tennessee
  • Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as patient records
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on patient-centered care

Preferred Qualifications:

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Prior experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in occupational therapy
  • Knowledge of MLH standards of treatment and professional occupational therapy practices
  • Experience working with electronic medical records and other healthcare technology
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and families from diverse backgrounds
