We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Part-Time Host/Hostess to join our team at Avenue Grill. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring seamless dining experiences, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our guests. This is a remote position that offers an immediate start for the right candidate, with a competitive salary package and opportunities for growth and development.Key Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Host/Hostess, your key responsibilities will include:- Greeting guests and determining the number in their party
- Seating guests by finding a clean, available table and providing a clean/current menu
- Guiding guests through the dining rooms and providing any needed assistance
- Moving and arranging tables, chairs, and settings to accommodate groups with special needs
- Ensuring place settings are appropriate and each guest has a napkin, clean silverware, and any other item that is part of the standard place setting
- Checking menus to ensure they are current, clean, plentiful, and wrinkle-free
- Maintaining cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures
- Monitoring dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety, and well-being of guests
- Following all company and safety and security policies and procedures
- Reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager
- Completing safety training and certifications
- Ensuring uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
- Maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information and protecting company assets
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
- Speak with others using clear and professional language and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:- A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- No related work experience is required, but a willingness to learn and grow is essential
- No supervisory experience is required, but a strong team player attitude is necessary
- No license or certification is required, but a commitment to safety and security policies and procedures is essential
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications would be beneficial:- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, such as hospitality or retail
- Knowledge of food and beverage service, including menu knowledge and wine service
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, such as a restaurant or hotel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and credit transactions

- A 6-month pay rate of $22.52 per hour
- A 1-year pay rate of $26.75 per hour
