About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Senior Tax Associate to join our remote team. As a Senior Tax Associate, you will play a key role in providing tax planning and preparation services to our clients. You will work closely with our team to deliver high-quality services, while also enjoying the flexibility and autonomy that comes with working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tax planning and preparation services to small businesses and startups, including individual and corporate tax returns.
- Conduct tax research and stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Prepare and review tax returns, including 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, and 990s.
- Communicate with clients to understand their tax needs and provide personalized service.
- Collaborate with the team to deliver high-quality services and meet client expectations.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on tax laws and regulations.
- Other tasks as assigned by the team leader.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in tax preparation and planning, preferably with a focus on small businesses and startups.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including individual and corporate tax returns.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with clients and team members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and resolve complex tax issues.
- Proficiency in tax software, including Intuit Proconnect and other accounting software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality services.
Preferred Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with:
- Experience with bookkeeping and CFO services, including financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Knowledge of payroll and sales tax, including setup and integration with accounting software.
- Experience with Excel pivot tables and vlookups, as well as other data analysis tools.
- HR or operations experience, including recruitment, training, and employee management.
- Experience with cloud-based accounting software, including QuickBooks Online and Xero.
