Remote, USA Full-time Posted 2025-11-03

Welcome to Advanced Radiology Services – A Leader in Tele‑Radiology Excellence

Advanced Radiology Services (ARS) stands proudly among the nation’s largest physician‑owned radiology groups, serving more than 60 health‑care sites across Michigan and beyond. With a dedicated team of 215 radiologists, 44 advanced practice providers, and 200 support staff, ARS delivers unmatched diagnostic expertise, rapid turnaround times, and compassionate patient care. Our culture is built on the pillars of diversity, inclusion, and entrepreneurial spirit—attributes that empower every team member to shape the future of radiology.

In partnership with the renowned Corewell Health system—Michigan’s largest Level I trauma center and a Diagnostic Center for Excellence recognized by the American College of Radiology—we read over 1.2 million STAT cases annually. As a fully remote Emergency Radiologist, you will join a thriving, innovation‑driven environment where your clinical acumen directly impacts patient outcomes across a broad spectrum of emergency settings.

Why This Role Is Different: The ARS Advantage

ARS is 100 % physician‑owned and managed, which means every radiologist has a voice in strategic decisions that shape the practice. We nurture an entrepreneurial mindset, offer academic collaborations with Michigan State University College of Medicine, and provide pathways for research, teaching, and mentorship—all while maintaining the flexibility of a remote, evening‑focused schedule.

  • Physician‑Owned Independence: Direct participation in practice governance and business strategy.
  • Academic Collaboration: Opportunities to teach residents, co‑author research, and present at national conferences.
  • Unrivaled Diagnostic Volume: Exposure to a diverse case mix that enhances expertise across modalities.
  • Robust Support Infrastructure: Dedicated technical, administrative, and IT teams ensure seamless remote workflow.

Position Overview – Evening Emergency Radiology (Remote)

We are seeking a board‑certified Emergency Radiologist to provide expert interpretation of emergency imaging during evening hours. This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from any location—preferably within the Pacific Time Zone or Hawaii—to align with our scheduled shifts. Two flexible scheduling options are offered to accommodate personal lifestyle preferences.

Scheduling Options

  • Option 1 – Alternate Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off; 8‑hour shifts from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Option 2 – Standard Schedule (Reduced Weekend Load): 39 weeks per year with 11 weekends; 7‑hour shifts, either 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. or 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Both options provide competitive compensation, generous paid time off, and the freedom to pick up additional shifts for increased earnings.

Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Do Every Evening

  • Interpret Emergency Imaging: Provide accurate, timely reads of ER‑centric ultrasound (US), computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance (MR), nuclear medicine (NM), and conventional radiography studies.
  • Rapid Decision‑Making: Function efficiently in a high‑pressure environment, delivering results that guide critical clinical decisions within minutes.
  • Collaborative Communication: Offer clear, concise, and actionable reports to referring physicians, ensuring optimal patient care pathways.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in peer‑review activities and adhere to ARS’s rigorous quality standards and evidence‑based protocols.
  • Continuing Education: Stay current with emerging emergency imaging techniques, AI tools, and best practices through ARS‑sponsored webinars and conferences.

Essential Qualifications – What You Must Bring

  • Board Certification: Certified by the ABR (American Board of Radiology) or AOBR (American Osteopathic Board of Radiology).
  • Emergency Radiology Expertise: Completion of an accredited emergency radiology fellowship or demonstrable experience interpreting ER imaging in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Comprehensive Modality Proficiency: Strong clinical skills across US, CT, MR, NM, and plain radiography, with the ability to evaluate all organ systems.
  • Technology Savvy: Comfortable using PACS, RIS, and tele‑radiology platforms; ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues independently.
  • Professionalism & Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a patient‑centered approach.

Preferred Qualifications – What Sets You Apart

  • Experience with AI‑assisted imaging interpretation or participation in AI research projects.
  • Academic affiliation or prior involvement in teaching radiology residents or medical students.
  • Published research in emergency imaging or related fields.
  • Familiarity with the specific workflow and protocols of large trauma centers such as Corewell Health.

Core Skills & Competencies for Success

  • Critical Thinking: Rapid synthesis of imaging findings with clinical context.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize multiple studies while maintaining accuracy.
  • Team Collaboration: Engaging effectively with on‑call physicians, technologists, and support staff.
  • Adaptability: Seamlessly transition between varying case types and imaging modalities.
  • Ethical Judgment: Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations while working remotely.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

At ARS, your professional development is a strategic priority. As a remote Emergency Radiologist, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship Programs: Pairing with senior radiologists for case review, feedback, and career guidance.
  • Educational Grants: Funding to attend national conferences such as RSNA, ACR, or specialty emergency radiology meetings.
  • Research Collaboration: Opportunities to co‑author papers, participate in multi‑institution studies, and explore AI integration within emergency imaging.
  • Leadership Pathways: Involvement in committees, quality‑improvement initiatives, and potential leadership roles within the physician‑owned governance structure.

Work Environment & Culture – What It’s Like to Be Part of ARS

  • Work‑Life Balance: Structured evening schedules, generous vacation accrual, and the ability to choose between two shift patterns empower you to maintain personal well‑being.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits – A Holistic Package

While exact figures are tailored to experience and market benchmarks, ARS offers a highly competitive remuneration model that includes:

  • Base Salary: Competitive, market‑aligned compensation with regular performance reviews.
  • Shift Differentials: Additional pay for evening and weekend coverage.
