Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, results‑oriented Remote Principal Digital Marketing Manager to lead our affiliate partner channel and spearhead cutting‑edge marketing technology initiatives. In this senior role, you will partner with internal analytics, media, and technology teams, as well as external agencies, to design, execute, and continuously improve high‑performing digital campaigns that align with Discover’s strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Direct cross‑functional teams—including product, creative, analytics, and technology—to deliver integrated marketing solutions that drive acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.
  • Affiliate Channel Management: Own the end‑to‑end strategy for affiliate partnerships, from recruitment and onboarding to performance optimization and compliance oversight.
  • Marketing Technology Stewardship: Champion the selection, implementation, and continuous enhancement of martech platforms (e.g., CDPs, DMPs, DSPs, attribution tools) that enable data‑driven decision making.
  • Campaign Architecture: Design multi‑channel campaigns that align with business objectives, incorporating innovative ad formats, audience segmentation, and personalized messaging.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to secure approvals, enforce brand guidelines, and mitigate any customer‑impacting issues.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish rigorous KPI dashboards, conduct deep‑dive analyses, and iterate on tactics to exceed benchmarks for ROI, CPA, and LTV.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison between internal creative teams, audience insight groups, and external agencies to ensure consistent messaging and seamless execution.
  • Resource Planning: Manage timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to keep projects on schedule and within scope.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related discipline. (A master’s degree is a strong plus.)
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of hands‑on experience in digital marketing, preferably within the financial services or fintech sector. Candidates without a degree must demonstrate 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Affiliate Expertise: Proven track record of managing and scaling affiliate programs, negotiating contracts, and driving performance improvements.
  • MarTech Proficiency: Familiarity with marketing automation platforms, data management tools, and analytics suites (e.g., Google Analytics 4, Adobe Analytics, Tableau).
  • Analytical Acumen: Ability to translate complex data sets into clear recommendations and actionable tactics.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and present compelling business cases.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated success in leading multi‑disciplinary projects from concept through execution, adhering to tight deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Compliance Awareness: Strong understanding of financial industry regulations, data privacy (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and advertising standards.

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in digital marketing leadership roles.
