Our mission is to harness the power of travel to create positive impact—for our customers, our partners, and our communities. As a global leader serving Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and fast‑growing enterprises, we continuously invest in cutting‑edge platforms that simplify the complexities of corporate travel while delivering measurable cost‑savings and superior experiences.

Joining Amex GBT means becoming part of a collaborative, purpose‑driven family where every voice matters. Our #TeamGBT culture celebrates diversity, champions inclusion, and fuels a spirit of curiosity. Whether you work from the bustling headquarters in New York, a regional hub, or the Remote office, you’ll enjoy the flexibility to balance personal priorities with professional ambition—thanks to our hybrid work model designed for modern professionals.

Why This Role Is a Game‑Changer

We are seeking a visionary Product Development Manager to lead the next evolution of our proprietary Hotel Point‑of‑Sale (HPOS) platform. This critical product sits at the intersection of technology, revenue management, and the end‑to‑end traveler lifecycle—from initial search to post‑trip servicing. As the steward of the HPOS roadmap, you will shape the tools that enable corporate travel managers to secure optimal rates, maximize savings, and drive revenue for both Amex GBT and our global clientele.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and execution for HPOS, ensuring alignment with broader supply‑technology initiatives.
  • Partner with cross‑functional engineering, product, supply, and traveler‑care teams to translate market insights into actionable features.
  • Champion a data‑driven, agile development process that balances rapid innovation with rigorous quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Roadmap Management

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather deep market intelligence—competitive landscape, supplier dynamics, and evolving customer needs.
  • Craft a visionary yet pragmatic 180‑day product roadmap that balances short‑term tactical wins with long‑term strategic initiatives.
  • Continuously refine the roadmap based on industry shifts, regulatory changes, and performance analytics.

Stakeholder Communication & Executive Alignment

  • Present roadmap updates, performance metrics, and risk assessments to senior leadership and executive sponsors.
  • Develop clear, concise release notes and product documentation for internal teams and external partners.
  • Facilitate cross‑departmental sync‑ups, ensuring engineering constraints, dependency maps, and mitigation plans are transparent.

Product Development & Delivery

  • Maintain a prioritized product backlog, translating business goals into well‑defined user stories, acceptance criteria, and use cases.
  • Champion agile ceremonies—sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, retrospectives—to keep development on track and adaptable.
  • Lead feature testing, validation, and quality‑assurance activities, ensuring releases meet the highest standards of reliability and security.

Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

  • Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rates, average daily rate (ADR) uplift, and system uptime.
  • Analyze usage data and customer feedback to identify friction points and opportunity areas for optimization.
  • Drive remediation initiatives—bug fixes, performance tuning, and feature enhancements—to sustain product excellence.

Customer Advocacy & Market Influence

  • Act as the domain expert for hotel distribution, educating internal teams and external partners on best practices and emerging trends.
  • Participate in industry conferences, webinars, and forums to position Amex GBT as a thought leader in hotel technology and revenue management.
  • Gather and synthesize client insights, turning real‑world challenges into product innovation opportunities.

Essential Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience within travel technology, preferably focusing on hotel distribution platforms.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex, high‑impact products from concept through launch using agile methodologies.
  • Deep knowledge of global distribution systems (GDS) and multi‑GDS environments, with hands‑on experience integrating hotel inventories.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical mindset—able to translate data into strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—tailored to technical, executive, and client audiences.
  • Proven ability to navigate a matrixed, globally distributed organization, influencing without direct authority.

Preferred (But Not Required) Expertise

  • Experience with travel e‑commerce platforms (OTA/OBT) and exposure to API‑first product architectures.
  • Familiarity with revenue management concepts such as dynamic pricing, yield optimization, and profitability analytics.
  • Background in travel‑related regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS) and data privacy best practices.
  • Certification in agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum Master, SAFe) or product-management credentials (e.g., AIPMM, Pragmatic).

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to envision the future of hotel technology and map out actionable steps.
  • Customer‑Centric Mindset: Deep empathy for the corporate traveler’s journey, ensuring product decisions enhance user experience.
  • Technical Fluency: Comfortable discussing APIs, data models, and system integrations with engineering partners.
  • Analytical Rigor: Proficiency with data‑visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to drive insight‑based roadmaps.
  • Leadership & Influence: Skilled at rallying cross‑functional teams around shared goals and navigating organizational politics.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑changing, global environment, turning ambiguity into clarity.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

At Amex GBT, your professional development is as important as the products you build. As a Product Development Manager, you will have access to:

  • Global tuition assistance for advanced degrees, industry certifications, and specialized courses.
  • Mentorship programs pairing you with senior leaders across technology, business, and operations.
  • Internal mobility pathways—move laterally into emerging product lines or advance into senior product leadership roles.
  • Participation in exclusive “Innovation Labs” where you can prototype next‑generation travel solutions.
  • Regular knowledge‑sharing sessions, hackathons, and speaker series featuring top experts in travel tech and revenue management.

Work Environment & Culture Highlights

Our hybrid model empowers you to blend remote flexibility with collaborative in‑person moments. Key cultural pillars include:

  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI): Employee‑resource groups, inclusive leadership training, and a commitment to representation at every level.
  • Well‑being: Comprehensive mental‑health resources, family‑care benefits, and a “Work‑Life Harmony” philosophy.
  • Travel Perks: Discounted rates on flights, hotels, cruises, and car rentals—so you can experience the product you help shape.
  • Flexible Benefits: Tailored health, retirement, parental‑leave, and adoption‑assistance programs that start day one.
  • Community Impact: Volunteer‑time‑off (VTO) programs and partnerships with NGOs that align with our “Travel for Good” ethos.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits Overview

The United States national base salary range for this role is $70,000 – $140,000, calibrated to experience, location, and expertise. In addition to a competitive salary, you will be eligible for:
