Team Overview – Technology & Insights

The Technology & Insights organization sits at the heart of DoorDash’s People experience. It unites four critical pillars:

  • People Technology – delivering and maintaining platforms such as Workday and Greenhouse.
  • People Analytics – turning workforce data into strategic insights.
  • People Apps – building custom applications that enhance employee productivity.
  • Corporate IT – managing hardware, software distribution, and the global service desk.

Our obsession is to provide world‑class experiences to every employee, from onboarding to retirement, using automation, AI, and seamless integration across all touch‑points. The team operates fully remotely, collaborating across time zones to support a workforce in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.

Role Overview – Program Manager, Technology & Insights

We are seeking a remote Senior Program Manager who will act as the linchpin between technical delivery teams and business stakeholders. You will lead complex, cross‑functional programs that span the entire employee lifecycle, ensuring that technology initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of multiple high‑impact technical programs, from requirements gathering and solution design through testing, deployment, and post‑launch optimization.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary bridge between engineers, product owners, HR, Finance, Payroll, and other business units, facilitating clear communication, shared decision‑making, and alignment on priorities.
  • Risk Management & Problem Solving: Proactively identify, track, and mitigate risks; develop contingency plans; resolve complex issues across teams, and escalate when necessary to maintain program momentum.
  • Governance & Reporting: Establish robust governance structures, create detailed documentation (charters, RACI matrices, status reports), and deliver regular updates to senior leadership on milestones, risks, and outcomes.
  • Leadership Without Authority: Inspire and guide cross‑functional teams, influencing without direct line‑management authority, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Process Optimization: Champion best‑practice methodologies (Agile, Scrum, SAFe), tailoring them to the unique needs of each project, and continuously improve delivery processes through retrospectives and data‑driven insights.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct workshops, demos, and stakeholder reviews to gather feedback, secure buy‑in, and ensure solutions meet real business needs.
  • Technology Advocacy: Stay abreast of emerging trends—AI, machine learning, low‑code platforms—and evaluate their applicability to enhance People technology and analytics capabilities.

Essential Qualifications

  • 5+ years of proven experience in technical program or project management, delivering large‑scale, complex initiatives in fast‑paced environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing programs that intersect HR, Finance, and Procurement technology stacks (e.g., Workday, NetSuite, COUPA, Greenhouse).
  • Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and the ability to adapt frameworks to suit varying team dynamics.
  • Expertise facilitating large‑scale scoping, design, and planning workshops with both technical and non‑technical participants.
  • Strong documentation skills, including the creation of detailed project artifacts such as requirement matrices, test plans, and post‑implementation reviews.
  • Proficiency with modern project management tools (Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, Monday.com) and the Google Workspace suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence senior stakeholders across multiple geographies.
  • Track record of leading cross‑functional teams to achieve outcomes without formal “org‑chart” authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI/ML‑enabled automation platforms and data‑driven decision frameworks.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑ACP, or Scrum Master.
  • Background in People Analytics, Workforce Planning, or HRIS implementation.
  • Exposure to global compliance and data‑privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) as they relate to employee data.
  • Previous remote‑first work experience with distributed, multicultural teams.

Core Competencies & Skills

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate business objectives into technical roadmaps.
  • Analytical Acumen: Comfortable interpreting data, metrics, and KPIs to drive program decisions.
  • Influence & Negotiation: Skilled at building consensus and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
  • Problem‑Solving Mindset: Proactive in identifying root causes and designing scalable solutions.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in ambiguity, quickly shifting priorities while maintaining focus on long‑term goals.
  • Leadership Presence: Projects confidence and credibility, fostering trust across cross‑functional teams.

DoorDash is committed to your growth. As a Senior Program Manager, you will have access to:

  • Leadership Development: Structured pathways to transition into senior director or product leadership roles.
  • Innovation Labs: Participation in internal hackathons and AI‑focused labs to prototype next‑gen employee experiences.

DoorDash offers a market‑competitive total rewards package designed to support your financial, health, and personal well‑being:

  • Base Salary: $139,400 – $205,000 USD, calibrated to location, experience, and market data.

  • Retirement Savings: 401(k) with company match.
  • Comprehensive Health Coverage: Medical, dental, vision, and prescription plans, with options for dependents.
  • Paid Time Off & Parental Leave: Generous vacation, holidays, and up to 20 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • Wellness Programs: Mental health resources, wellness expense reimbursements, and fitness class subsidies.
  • Family‑Forming Assistance: Support for adoption, surrogacy, and other family‑building pathways.
  • Remote Work Stipends: Home office setup allowance and monthly internet reimbursement.
  • Learning & Development: Access to internal training platforms, external certifications, and tuition assistance for relevant degrees.

  • Partners with organizations that source talent from under‑represented groups.
  • Provides unconscious bias training and inclusive hiring practices.
  • Tracks and publishes diversity metrics to ensure accountability.
  • Offers employee resource groups (ERGs) for LGBTQIA+, veterans, parents, people with disabilities, and more.

All candidates are evaluated without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
