Job Overview

As a Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician at Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, you will be responsible for conducting ongoing testing to ensure that our production processes are yielding high-quality products that meet our stringent mechanical and visual standards. You will work closely with our Technology group and Quality Leader to conduct additional testing, perform preventative maintenance tasks, and maintain a tour-ready laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct injection molding and physical testing in accordance with ISO 17025 and other relevant standards
  • Perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks and calibrations to ensure the smooth operation of laboratory equipment
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, adhering to lean, ethical, and regulatory requirements, including IATF 16949, ISO 17025, and ISO 14001
  • Collaborate with the Technology group and Quality Leader to conduct additional testing and resolve quality-related issues
  • Promote a safe work environment for yourself and others, taking the initiative to resolve issues before they become problems
  • Seek continuous improvement through periodic assessments and stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of education, experience, and skills that align with our requirements. The minimum qualifications include:

  • High School education or equivalent
  • Preferred: Polymer or Manufacturing related Associates Degree and/or 2-5 years of manufacturing experience with a focus on quality laboratory work
  • Injection molding and SAP experience is highly desirable
  • Able to work an 11pm-7am shift, Monday-Friday, with rotating weekend coverage (one weekend a month required)
