About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to play a critical role in ensuring that all clinical documentation adheres to regulatory standards, organizational policies, and maintains the highest quality of care. As a Remote Clinical Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing and co-signing treatment plans, clinical notes, and other documentation created by associate therapists and registered interns. Your primary goal will be to ensure that all documentation meets the required standards, and you will work closely with our leadership team, including clinical supervisors and management, to address any issues related to documentation quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly review treatment plans, progress notes, and other documentation submitted by associate therapists (licensed interns) to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant regulatory standards and organizational guidelines.
 - Conduct regular audits to assess the quality of documentation and identify areas for improvement, providing constructive feedback to associate therapists and collaborating with them to enhance the quality of their documentation.
 - Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards in the healthcare industry, staying up-to-date with industry changes and informing the team about any updates affecting documentation requirements.
 - Maintain accurate records of all documentation reviews, feedback provided, and corrective actions taken, generating reports on the overall quality of documentation and compliance levels.
 - Work closely with the leadership team, including clinical supervisors and management, to address any issues related to documentation quality and compliance, communicating effectively with providers for documentation coaching and revision purposes prior to co-signature.
 - Foster a collaborative environment that encourages open communication and continuous improvement, relaying ongoing and urgent matters to CCQAM and other appropriate parties.
 
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas, including:
- A Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology.
 - An active LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT license, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
 - Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and previous experience in behavioral health or therapy documentation.
 - The ability to adopt new technologies and systems quickly, with a strong focus on attention to detail and quality assurance.
 - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with associate therapists, clinical supervisors, and management.
 - A willingness to become licensed in additional states that Brave Health serves, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a quality assurance or compliance role, with a strong understanding of regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
 - Experience working in a telehealth or remote healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities presented by this model of care.
 - A certification in quality assurance or a related field, such as CPHQ or CQA.
 - Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
