Job Overview

In this fully remote role, you will be working from the comfort of your own home in Maryland, utilizing your excellent communication skills to address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide personalized support. As a key member of the Customer Support Center (CSC) team, you will be responsible for handling a wide range of customer interactions, from eligibility and enrollment assistance to addressing concerns and providing education on available health plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to individuals, families, small group employees, and brokers via phone, email, or other communication channels
  • Utilize the State's eligibility and enrollment portal, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, and other State systems to perform tasks and duties for HIX customers
  • Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide personalized support in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Stay up-to-date with knowledge of Medicaid, Qualified Health Plans, and other relevant programs to ensure accurate and informative responses to customer inquiries
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex customer issues and escalate concerns as needed
  • Meet or exceed performance metrics, including quality standards, productivity, and customer satisfaction targets

Essential Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications:

  • Residency in the state of Maryland
  • Call Center experience (mandatory requirement)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with customers and provide personalized support
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple customer interactions simultaneously
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software applications
  • High-speed internet connection and a personal computer meeting minimum requirements (i5 processor or higher)
  • Availability for a QC Interview with the Client (week of September 16-20) and attendance at the Real Job Preview on September 27
  • Ability to pass a State Policy Exam with a score of 80% or higher

Preferred Qualifications:

While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or insurance-related field
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, Qualified Health Plans, and other relevant programs
  • Experience working with CRM software and other customer service technology platforms
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customer populations
