Job Overview

As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will play a vital role in providing phone support to patients receiving life-saving specialty drug treatment. You will be responsible for the overall coordination and processing of new and existing drug orders, including verifying and updating benefits, assisting patients with interpreting and entering new or refill prescriptions into our pharmacy information system, communicating and collecting copay amounts, obtaining authorizations, and collaborating with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to monitor, identify, resolve, and expedite orders with billing or clinical issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional phone support to patients, ensuring timely and accurate processing of specialty drug orders
  • Verify and update patient benefits, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements
  • Assist patients with interpreting and entering new or refill prescriptions into our pharmacy information system
  • Communicate and collect copay amounts, obtaining authorizations as needed
  • Collaborate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to resolve billing or clinical issues
  • Utilize strong relational skills to effectively communicate with patients, insurance companies, and internal stakeholders

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Active IL Pharmacy Technician License or willingness to apply for an IL Pharmacy Technician License
  • At least one year of experience in a customer-facing role, handling complex customer needs via phone
  • At least one year of work experience with Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Office, web navigation, and email applications
  • At least one year of computer keyboarding experience, with strong skills and proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of benefits, insurance, medications, and medical terminology
  • Previous experience working in a high-volume customer service environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
