Key Responsibilities
- Respond to telephone and email inquiries from members and providers in a timely and professional manner, ensuring that all interactions meet our defined service standards.
 - Negotiate with providers to gain acceptance for plans without network agreements and/or out-of-network providers, utilizing your excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
 - Assist members with benefits and healthcare questions, providing clear and concise information to ensure they have a thorough understanding of their options.
 - Document all calls received in our system-based call log, ensuring that all interactions are accurately recorded and easily accessible for future reference.
 - Take initiative to resolve situations and accomplish project actions and tasks, demonstrating your ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 - Build strong relationships with internal and external customers, including members, providers, and other stakeholders, to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
 
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED required; 2 years of college or higher education preferred.
 - One year of customer service or call center experience in a healthcare-related role, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare concepts.
 - Medical Intake or Third-Party Administrator (TPA) experience preferred, with knowledge of provider organizations and networks.
 - Bilingual English-Spanish skills are a plus, as well as experience with insurance verification, pre-certification, and claim processing.
 - Strong appreciation and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information, with excellent data entry and typing skills.
 - Proficient with Microsoft applications, strong computer skills, and computer navigation, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CMS Medicare reimbursement rates and the ability to effectively negotiate rate structures.
 - Knowledge of Self-Funded health benefits and understanding of provider office/facility billing department or financial area.
 - Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to anticipate potential needs and problems.
 - Independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 - Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively, with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
