Inside Catastrophe Claim Representative - Remote Territories
About the position
Responsibilities
• Determine optimal resource for management of assigned claims files.
• Utilize mapping software to analyze claim locations in proximity to staff adjusters.
• Manage Independent Adjusters, ensuring timely service delivery and validation of estimates.
• Review and approve all Independent Adjuster reports and billing.
• Handle first-party property claims of varying severity and complexity.
• Meet quality standards and expectations per Best Practices.
• Investigate and evaluate facts to determine coverage, damages, and liability of claims.
• Establish accurate scope of damages for building and contents losses.
• Provide multi-line assistance in response to workforce management needs.
• Establish timely and accurate claim and expense reserves.
• Determine appropriate settlement amounts based on various estimates and validations.
• Negotiate and convey claim settlements within authority limits.
• Write denial letters and complex correspondence to insureds.
• Perform administrative functions such as expense accounts and time off reporting.
• Maintain an effective diary system and document claim file activities.
• Manage file inventory to ensure timely resolution of cases.
• Provide excellent customer service to meet the needs of insureds and business partners.
• Recognize when to refer claims to Special Investigations Unit or Subrogation Unit.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• A minimum of one year previous outside property claim handling experience or successful completion of Travelers Outside Claim Representative training program required.
• Bachelors Degree preferred.
• General knowledge of estimating system Xactimate preferred.
• Customer Service experience preferred.
• Advanced interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Intermediate organizational and time management skills.
• Intermediate ability to work independently.
• Intermediate judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Intermediate negotiation skills.
• Intermediate written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Intermediate investigative skills.

• Intermediate ability to resolve claims within settlement authority.
