About the Role

As a Part-Time Customer Service Associate at blithequark, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving sales growth in our Tool Rental department. You will be responsible for welcoming customers, answering questions, and providing expert guidance on our products and services. Your goal will be to ensure that every customer leaves our store feeling valued, informed, and satisfied with their shopping experience. Whether you are helping a customer find the right tool for their project or providing guidance on how to use our equipment, you will be the face of blithequark and the key to building long-term relationships with our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers to blithequark and provide friendly, professional, and courteous service at all times
  • Answer customer questions and provide expert guidance on our products and services, including tool rental options and equipment usage
  • Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise, including tools and equipment
  • Down stock merchandise by looking for empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies
  • Process orders and deliveries accurately to ensure that customers receive their merchandise as expected and on time
  • Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service and support our customers' needs
  • Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs, including preparing tools and equipment for rental
  • Guide customers through shopping or checkout, providing expert guidance and support as needed
  • Complete other duties as assigned, including maintaining a clean and safe store environment and participating in visual merchandising efforts

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction)
  • Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties
  • Minimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with or without an accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following preferred qualifications will make you a more competitive candidate for this role:

  • 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience
  • Bi-lingual skills
  • Certification in a trade related to the department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials)
