Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner
- Retrieve and verify the accuracy of customs clearance information from databases, SOPs, duty books, the web, or customs documentation
- Perform data entry and processing of import-related documentation for submission to US Customs and other participating government agencies (PGAs)
- Maintain and update all shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements
- Ensure compliance with all international importing and exporting regulations
- Collaborate with internal staff, departments, and clients to deliver a high level of service and support
- Process company financier shipments and handle remote filings as required
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring that service and organizational standards are met
Essential Qualifications
- High school certificate or GED required
- No industry experience required, but a minimum of six months of work experience is preferred
- Data entry/console experience required
- Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment (telephone, fax, scanner, printer, copier)
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle a high volume of work and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., logistics, international trade, business administration)
- Previous experience in a customs trade or import/export role
- Familiarity with customs regulations and procedures
