Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician and Data Entry Specialist to join our team at blithequark. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be the front and center of our pharmacy operations, interacting with customers and developing strong patient relationships. You will be responsible for using pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and providing excellent customer service. As a Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately entering patient and drug information into our pharmacy systems, ensuring that all data is up-to-date and accurate.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Use pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and provide excellent customer service
- Develop strong relationships with customers and patients, resolving issues and answering inquiries to ensure a positive customer experience
- Model and provide a unique and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits and blithequark service characteristics
- Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication accuracy
- Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow, reporting prescription errors, and adhering to company policies and procedures
- Register all related sales on assigned cash register, collect and handle cash as required, and take customers to the OTC aisle when possible to assist in finding products
- Handle telephone calls that don't require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians
- Process manual claims for third-party application prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and perform other clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager
Essential Qualifications
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
- Preferred: six months of experience in a retail environment
- Preferred: previous work experience with blithequark
- Preferred: desirable math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications
- Preferred: good computer skills
- Preferred: knowledge of store inventory control
- Preferred: PTCB certification
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent customer service skills, including interpersonal habits and blithequark service characteristics
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Basic math skills, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications
- Good computer skills, including proficiency in pharmacy systems and software applications
- Knowledge of store inventory control and management
- PTCB certification (preferred)
