Job Overview

As a Lead Data Scientist for Ads Data Solutions Research at blithequark, you will play a critical role in empowering decision-makers with data-driven insights, predictions, and recommendations that impact the stories of hundreds of thousands of customers worldwide. You will be part of a talented team of data scientists who work closely with cross-functional business partners to develop scalable, continuous solutions that drive business growth and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and enhance systems by developing machine learning models that drive business outcomes, such as revenue, inventory, delivery, and customer lifetime value estimation
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to produce models and drive experimentation to test the impact of model-based optimization
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of audience, brand, and ad operational data systems and metrics, and mine large datasets to identify opportunities for driving marketing revenue, viewer ad experience, and subscriber growth and retention
  • Develop prototype solutions, mathematical models, algorithms, and robust analytics that lead to actionable insights communicated clearly and visually
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to identify and unlock opportunities, and with other data teams to enhance platform capabilities around data modeling, data visualization, experimentation, and data architecture

Essential Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Operations Research, Econometrics, or Statistics
  • 7+ years of experience designing, building, and evaluating practical machine learning solutions
  • 7+ years of experience with statistical programming languages, such as Python, Spark, or PySpark, and database languages, such as SQL

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in a quantitative discipline
  • Excellent analytical skills, with a high level of data knowledge and expertise
  • Strong knowledge of Python and libraries, such as sci-kit-learn and SciPy
  • Familiarity with Bayesian modeling and probabilistic programming applications, such as PyMC
  • Familiarity with data structures and systems, such as Databricks, Jupyter, Snowflake, Airflow, and Github
  • Familiarity with data exploration and data visualization tools, such as Tableau and Looker
  • Demonstrated skills in choosing the right statistical tools given a data analysis problem
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities
  • Strong communication skills, for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and in a timely manner, including large and complex ones
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including people and project management
