Due to continued growth my client, a household name in the UK insurance industry, currently seeks an experienced Income Protection Claims / Quality Assurance Assessor to join their friendly team (remote or hybrid). Duties will include: • Managing claims where complaints or technical issues have been raised regarding customer outcomes • Taking ownership of appeals and complaints and ensuring that they are handled in a fair, compliant and transparent fashion. • Analysing claims files to ensure claims have been assessed fairly and requesting further evidence where required • Handling all aspects of customer communication throughout the claims process. • Liaising with internal and external sources in order to secure all necessary information in order to effectively assess claims. • Use of technical expertise, medical knowledge and logical reasoning to confirm validity of initial claims decision or make necessary changes required to provide the customer with a fair outcome. • Identifying... potentially fraudulent claims and raising concerns with the management team. • Support less experienced colleagues with training and development. • Handling complex and contentious claims involving fraud or potential litigation. • Providing input into opportunities for process and procedural improvement. Applicants must possess a proven background in Income Protection (or medical) claims with the ability to logically assess through to conclusion. You will possess good all round medical knowledge along with a thorough understanding of claims processes and philosophy. Excellent communication skills are a pre-requisite along with the ability to handle sensitive situations using empathy and understanding.
