About the position The Auto Claims Examiner - UM/UIM role is focused on the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of commercial automobile claims involving Uninsured Motorist (UM) and Underinsured Motorist (UIM) coverage nationwide. This position is part of a technology-driven initiative aimed at enhancing customer experience and eliminating inefficiencies in traditional claims processes. The ideal candidate will be customer-oriented and technically proficient, ensuring the delivery of top-level service while achieving industry best outcomes. Responsibilities • Timely investigate, evaluate, and resolve commercial auto claims UM/UIM. , • Strict TPA oversight and guidance on timely reporting of UM/UIM claims and responding to the same. , • Identify and assess coverage issues, draft coverage position letters, and retain coverage counsel when necessary. , • Partner with Claim Account Managers and underwriting on UM UIM forms. , • Execute on claims strategies to achieve claims quality, customer service, and operational objectives. , • Serve as a mentor to less-experienced claims professionals. , • Handle claims with a high complexity of coverage analysis, investigation, damage assessment, and other relevant technical areas. , • Provide training on current and new processes when needed. , • Support the strategy and operations of Auto claims. , • Assist in industry analysis and benchmarking studies. , • Prepare and present written/oral reports to senior management setting forth all issues influencing evaluation and recommending reserves. , • Travel to and from locations within the United States to attend mediations, trials, and other proceedings relevant to the resolution of the matter. , • Negotiate resolution of claims. , • Maintain a diary of all claims, post reserves in a timely fashion, and expeditiously respond to inquiries from the insured, counsel, underwriters, brokers, and senior management regarding claims. , • Other duties as assigned. Requirements • 5+ years of working experience at a commercial auto carrier handling bodily injury claims nationally. , • 5+ years of working experience handling UM/UIM claims nationally. , • Proper adjuster licensing in all applicable states. , • Exceptional communication (written and verbal), evaluating, influencing, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills to effectively develop productive working relationships with internal/external peers and other professionals across organizational lines. , • Litigation experience is preferred. , • Strong time management and organizational skills. , • Creative, out of the box thinker who refuses to accept the status quo. , • Ability to take part in active strategic discussions. , • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment. , • Hands-on experience and strong aptitude with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
