Job Overview We are seeking a highly accomplished Controller to join a vibrant nonprofit organization based in Houston. As the Controller, you will play a vital role in steering the financial operations of the organization and ensuring its ongoing success. Key Responsibilities • Lead and oversee comprehensive accounting functions, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, and capital expenditures. • Conduct in-depth financial reporting, variance analysis, and inventory management to safeguard the organization’s financial integrity. • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and oversee essential functions such as audits, tax filings, and grant reporting. • Mentor and develop a talented team of accounting professionals, fostering their growth and success. Required Skills • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management. • CPA certification (Texas or with TX reciprocity). • Passion for the nonprofit sector and a genuine commitment to making a difference. • Minimum of 5 years of substantial accounting experience, including expertise in supply chain management, capital expenditures, fixed assets, and variance analysis. • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership capacity, with strong team motivation skills. • Proficiency in ERP systems (such as Oracle NetSuite) and adeptness in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. • Outstanding communication, analytical, and organizational abilities. Qualifications • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience with demonstrated capabilities in the required functional areas. • Proven leadership experience of at least 3 years in motivating and guiding teams.
