About the position The Assistant Director for DEI Training, Education, & Community Relations is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing training and community development initiatives that support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across the organization. This part-time role focuses on creating DEI educational programs and enhancing community engagement to promote transparency, trust, and mutual respect around DEI issues, fostering a more inclusive environment. Responsibilities • Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of DEI to identify DEI-related needs such as trainings and workshops. , • Develop and implement DEI trainings and initiatives that align with the organization's goals and values. , • Integrate DEI principles into existing programs and initiatives across various departments. , • Assess the current state of DEI training and identify areas for improvement. , • Develop and implement a comprehensive campus-wide DEI training program for students, faculty, and staff. , • Conduct workshops and seminars to raise awareness of DEI issues such as bias and anti-racism. , • Stay updated on best practices in DEI to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of inclusive practices. , • Provide regular reports on DEI training progress to leadership. , • Develop educational resources and materials to support DEI initiatives. , • Establish partnerships with external organizations to enhance DEI training programs. , • Serve as the main point of contact for all DEI training and professional development initiatives. , • Build and maintain relationships with faculty, students, staff, and community organizations to enhance ODEI's presence. , • Attend community events to stay informed about local DEI initiatives and build partnerships. , • Develop strategic goals for internal and external community engagement regarding DEI. , • Assist with DEI-related concerns within the community and support the Incident Support Team (IST). , • Monitor the effectiveness of the IST process and provide recommendations for improvement. , • Maintain accurate records of DEI concerns to inform programming and training needs. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree. , • Four years of related experience in DEI training and education. Nice-to-haves • Degree in human resources, diversity and inclusion, or related field. , • Master's degree preferred. , • Prior experience in conflict resolution or a related role.
