Cyber Security Engineer
Vidorra Consulting is looking for a highly qualified Cyber Security Engineer to cover the South East United States for a permanent position with one of our esteemed clients. The ideal candidate will have a very detailed understanding of network security principals and fundamentals. He/she should be able to clearly explain complex security topics to both technical and non-technical personnel. The ideal candidate will also have extensive/documented experience with at least two of the following types of firewalls:
Barracuda
Cisco
Fortinet
Palo Alto
Sophos
A detailed understanding of TCP/IP, network documentation, and routing is expected. The ideal candidate will also possess the ability to function within a team environment and must possess strong inter-personnel skills. This position will encompass remote customer support, traveling to meet with new potential customers and onsite installations as needed. The ability to communicate with our customers and help them design an informational security system that addresses their primary needs.
One of the following certifications are strongly preferred:
Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security)
Fortinet Certified Network Security Professional (FCNSP)
Experience and Qualifications:
Be a subject matter expert on information security technologies and concepts
Design, build, and maintain information security systems
Monitor computer and network systems for suspicious behavior
Pro-actively identify and resolve system vulnerabilities
Design and implement security controls
At least five years of information technology experience
At least two years of experience managing security solutions within a business network
At least two years of experience managing Microsoft Active Directory
At least two years of experience mitigating viruses, malware and spam
Experience with penetration testing is a plus
Security+, CISSP, GSEC, CEH, or other security related certification are desired
ITIL training and certification is a plus
Strong understanding of information security systems such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability management, antivirus, disk encryption
Strong understanding of network technologies and concepts
Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Active Directory
Comfortable working with Linux operating systems
Comfortable working with virtualization technologies
Comfortable working with electronic certificates and PKI
Strong technical acumen and ability to troubleshoot complex problems
Familiar with encryption and hashing standards
Familiar with NIST Cybersecurity Framework, SP 800 series, and CIS Critical Security Controls
Work well as part of a team
Comfortable multitasking
Self-motivated
Require little supervision
