HR Manager - Fractional, Part Time, Remote

- We are seeking a Fractional HR Manager to join our team on a part-time, remote basis, working 5-10 hours per week.
- This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who is knowledgeable with compliance, and fosters a positive workplace culture in a flexible, virtual environment.
- You will partner with leadership to support Level Workforce’s HR initiatives.
- Team Support: Provide guidance and support for a small team of HR Specialists, Recruiters, and Payroll Specialists.
- HR Planning : Collaborate with leadership to assess staffing needs, address excesses or shortages, and plan for layoffs, terminations, reassignments, or future growth.
- Job Analysis & Design : Create job descriptions, analyze compensation, and set role expectations.
- Orientation & Induction : Develop and maintain an Employee Handbook (Title VII compliant), confidentiality agreements, ADA policies, and onboarding checklists.
- Set organizational culture, manage hiring paperwork, and ensure updated FLSA-compliant workplace posters.
- Training & Development : Recommend training programs for employee growth (e.g., leadership, computer skills, management efficiency) and develop materials for state-required training.
- Performance Evaluations : Conduct performance reviews at set intervals (e.g., 6 months, 1 year) and create role-specific appraisal documentation.
- Compensation & Benefit Planning : Analyze market salary ranges, determine benefit options, and guide FMLA policy development.
- Conflict Resolution & Disciplinary Process : Resolve employee issues, conduct investigations, and follow disciplinary checklists for counseling or resolution.
- Employee Motivation : Design team-building activities and establish vacation/PTO policies to enhance engagement.
- Policy Development : Write, update, or revise company policies to ensure a safe, productive, and compliant workplace, following federal and state regulations.
- Offboarding : Conduct exit interviews, provide offboarding checklists, prepare termination letters, determine severance (if applicable), assist with DOL unemployment hearings, and manage COBRA checklists.
- Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with HR applications (e.g., HRIS, applicant tracking systems, performance management software).
- In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and procedures
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws (e.g., Title VII, ADA, FLSA, FMLA).
- Strong organizational and communication skills to work independently in a remote setting.
- SPHR, PHR or SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP certification a plus
- 8+ years’ experience in an HR leadership role
