MSHA Moderator
Are you a detail-oriented customer service professional with a knack for technology? Join HSI as a Remote Training Support Specialist (MSHA Moderator) and play a critical role in supporting our virtual MSHA training programs. In this role, you’ll be the behind-the-scenes hero helping adult learners successfully attend and complete mandatory safety courses from the comfort of their homes.

What you will do:
As part of our virtual training support team, you’ll work closely with the MSHA Instructor to ensure every training session runs smoothly—from registration to final sign-off.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Register and enroll students in MSHA Part 48 New Miner and Refresher courses
- Communicate clearly with students via email regarding login instructions and expectations
- Conduct pre-training tech checks to ensure students’ devices are ready for virtual participation
- Monitor live virtual classrooms (Adobe Connect) and provide real-time support to students and instructors
- Troubleshoot basic tech issues (e.g., webcam, audio, connectivity, login issues)
- Track attendance, participation, and student conduct during training
- Document and escalate technical or participation issues when needed
- Collaborate with the internal MSHA team to improve workflows and enhance learner experience
- Work Schedule:
- This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position with rotating weekly shifts based on course assignments. All times are listed in Pacific Time (PT).
- You must be available to work either of the following shifts:
- * New Miner Course: 5:30 AM – 2:30 PM (includes a 1-hour lunch)
- Annual Refresher Course: 6:15 AM – 3:30 PM (includes a 1-hour lunch)
- Schedule will be communicated in advance, and flexibility to work both shifts is required.
Requirements
- You’re a service-first professional who brings positivity, tech-savviness, and calmness under pressure to every customer interaction.
- 2+ years of experience in remote customer service or administrative support roles
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new platforms quickly
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and virtual platforms (e.g., Adobe Connect, Zoom, or similar)
- Associate degree preferred but not required
- Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet workspace
